The Hub - Library

The Hub is the hive centre of the Primary School. Our generous collection of both physical and digital resources creates an environment that fosters a love of reading and learning within NVCCS.

With flexible learning zones and reading for pleasure spaces, students have the opportunity to build the foundations of research and learning, and develop their literacy skills and love of literature.

The Hub showcases the work of primary school students across the year, with a gallery of work from our future artists, scientists, writers, and mathematicians.

Our maker-space zone, with a focus on construction and problem solving is a highlight for students as they build their creative and critical thinking skills through play, during break times and formal Learning and Discovery lessons.

Woodwork & Metalwork Rooms

The school’s Technology facilities include dedicated Woodwork and Metalwork rooms. These contain a wide range of industry-standard equipment and machinery. A key component of all technology courses is engaging students with emerging technologies.

Attached to our technology rooms is an innovative planning room containing state of the art equipment including a 3D printer and laser cutters. This provides students with further opportunities to expand their skills in technology and prototype solutions to various design problems.

Drama & Music Rooms

The Drama and Music rooms contain a small theatre space with tiered seating, performance space and a lighting and sound system. Attached to the small theatre space are a number of individual sound-proofed practise rooms and a recording studio. The main space also acts as a dance studio complete with wall to wall mirrors and suitable floor material.

In addition to being used for class-related activities, students regularly use the Drama and Music rooms for private music lessons, small ensembles, choir and orchestra rehearsals.

Senior Library

Maam Miindala Library 'Place for wisdom'

The Maam Miindala Library was opened in 2022, and serves our Secondary School. Our growing collection of physical and digital resources is utilised by students and staff for learning, enjoyment and equipping students to navigate 21st Century learning.

Quiet senior study areas, collaborative learning zones and soft seating for reading for pleasure are incorporated into the space to create an environment rich for learning and leisure.

Our dedicated Information Literacy Learning Space provides opportunities for students to come to the library to learn about the research process, academic integrity, creative and critical thinking, and digital literacy.

NVCCS employs qualified information specialists to help and equip students in research, information seeking, literacy, and a love of reading.
