About our school

About our school

. . . Jesus Christ is the creator and sustainer of all that exists . . . everything in our school is “from Christ and for Him” . . .

All learning at the Nambucca Valley Christian Community School takes place in a calm and secure family environment, where home and school work in close partnership to encourage children to be enthusiastic, confident and resilient learners.

Together, home and school nurture and encourage each child to appreciate, develop and enjoy the abilities, opportunities and responsibilities they have, as a person made in the image of God.

We trust that you will explore and enjoy our website and discover some of the many opportunities that Nambucca Christian Community School offers your family, as you consider joining with us on the journey of a Christ centred education for your children.

LOWER PRIMARY - Kindergarten to Year 4

The Lower Primary curriculum meets all the requirements of the NSW Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards.

Kindergarten builds on the good work carried out in pre-schools and playgroups in the local area.

Mastering the fundamental skills of Numeracy and Literacy is a priority in Lower Primary School, along with laying the foundations of a positive and purposeful approach to all learning and extra- curricular activities.

When children join Lower Primary in Kindergarten, or in later years, they are quickly made a welcome part of the school community with the care and attention of their teacher.

Special features of Lower Primary at Nambucca Valley Christian Community School:

  • A dynamic and energising and Creative Arts programme
  • A culture of care and nurture by older students
  • Shared curricular activities with older students

  • The happy mixing of all ages in the playground, in formal assemblies and on other special occasions

YEAR 5 to YEAR 8

Year 5 to Year 8 spans the last years of Primary School and the first years of Secondary School. At a time of their lives when so much is changing, this eases the transition for primary students from the learning environment of one classroom to the more varied and diverse learning environment of Secondary School.

Year 5 to Year 8 at Nambucca Valley Christian Community School seeks to provide opportunities for students to identify and develop their own gifts, abilities and interests, and to use and enjoy those gifts in thankfulness to God.

As individuals made in the image of God, students are encouraged to learn in community not competition, to be motivated intrinsically and “seek the reward in the task”. Qualities of character, self discipline, responsibility and resilience are fostered and emphasised.
